2008 Global Trends
By neoIT
neoIT’s newest research brief, 2008 Globalization Trends, forecasts continued strong demand for global services as buyer look to reap cost savings by tapping into the global services economy. The increased demand will be to the benefit of global service providers, with India continuing to lead the market. India, however, is expected to experience some disruption as rampant inflation and employee turnover impact business progress. Some secondary market service providers will likely become acquisition targets by powerhouse Indian service firms.

“Strong demand for global services will be driven by the need to cut costs as the U.S. economy slows,” said neoIT CEO Eugene Kublanov. “India will remain the geographical focal point of services globalization, but emerging markets will assume a significantly larger role in fulfilling sourcing needs. For both buyers and providers of global services, 2008 will be filled with many opportunities, but also real challenges.”

Successful service providers must be able to quickly adapt to the rapid changes in the market, expanding their role from application globalization to providing a broader scope of business restructuring services.
