Welcome to the September 2007 issue of Global Services Insights.
We continue to track the Services Globalization industry to provide you with the latest news, views and trends that shape
the way services are purchased, delivered and managed around the world.
The latest in neoIT’s popular monthly global sourcing research series Negotiating a Global Services Outsourcing
Agreement, tackles one of the most challenging aspects of successful outsourcing,
the contract negotiations phase. In order for global sourcing to succeed, one of the
most important aspects is to strike a win-win deal for both the buyer and the supplier.

Negotiating a Global Services Outsourcing Agreement
By neoIT
|
 |
The research indicates that in order to reach a successful global services
agreement, corporations need to be prepared with a well-defined strategy,
and to have leadership in place to guide the overall direction before
initiating contractual agreements. Unfortunately, many companies skip
the first two steps and begin with tactical contract negotiations. This
bypasses the importance of having a shared strategy or consistent support
when negotiating company interests. All too often, this can result in negotiation
missteps and backtracking.

Change Amidst Globalization
By Atul Vashistha
Chairman, neoIT
When approaching the multi-dimensional change created by services globalization, many firms find that the change
is all consuming and often extremely gut wrenching. Most organizations spend 90% of their time and effort on systems
and only 10% of their time in managing people’s expectations. It is easier to change systems and processes but difficult
to change people. |
